What an amazing season it has been for the London APSA Under 13s team who finished the 2015/16 season with 20 trophies.

APSA begun the season in August 2015 and their trophy haul begun when they lifted the East London Charity Cup 2015 by beating NILC 6-2 at Clapton's Old Spotted Dog Ground, the youngsters went on to start the season in the Waltham Forest youth league where they lost their opening game 2-0 to Juva youth, however APSA went on to win every league and cup fixture after that game, doing the historic treble, winning the league, league cup and challenge cup.

Coming from Manor Park, APSA's football started to attract many local people and the Asian community of Newham in particular, many local businesses and and residents started taking an interest in the youngsters progress and in football and begun to turn up to their games in numbers, an average crowd would be of 40-50 people, and the highest crowd attendance this season was 210 when APSA beat Manor FC on penalties in the 2016 Football For Change Cup final at Wanstead Flats.

It's also been a year of progress for some of the youngsters as Akram Miah and Taher Mahmood had trials at 3 professional clubs and although either couldn't progress forward it was a an experience to remember and to take in, they received positive feedback from the academies and were told on what to work on and both the boys know what to do next when an opportunity like this comes next.

Manager Hafiz Ahmed, who has been managing the team for 4 years said this was the best season together for the team and had his say on a successful campaign 'The main thing that im proud about our boys is where we come from, all these boys come from deprived backgrounds, yes we had a season where we won a lot of trophies, but what was more important was giving these youngsters an opportunity, getting them off the streets and giving them something to look forward to in life, working closely with the parents and making sure also at school they do well, that was my vision when I started this team in 2012 and look at where we are now'. 

London APSA captain and top scorer Akram Miah who netted 58 goals in 76 appearances this season added 'This season has been our best as a team, I just want to say a big well done to all our boys this year they put all the hard work in and to our manager Hafiz, without him we would not have got to where we are now, his helped as so much in the last few years and still is, bring on 2016/17!'.

APSA will begin pre season training July 2016, and will play in the Hackney Marshes Saturday youth league for the 2016/17 season.


London APSA End Season With Neighborhood Cup Win

After losing the East London & Essex Junior Cup Final 2-1 to Clissold, London APSA Under 13s bounced back with a 4-0 win against a strong Elite Pro Sports side in the final of the Active Newham Neighborhood cup final at the Terence McMillan Stadium.

APSA 2 weeks prior to this won the Manor Park competition at Little Ilford Park and by doing so qualified for the finals where they won 2 games and drew one in the group stage and through goal difference qualified for the semi final where they took on SM FC of Wanstead, APSA run out as 5-0 winners in the semi final, after goals came in from Radwan Karim and Osman Rahman, both getting a brace each and Taher Mahmood with a stunning free kick got his single.

In the final APSA took on a strong Elite Pro Sports side who like APSA where undefeated in the competition. As soon as the final kicked off and from the start APSA took the lead within seconds a quick succession of passes led to Taher Mahmood tapping in Radwan Karim's cross. As Elite Pro struggled to get the ball, APSA dominated and scored anoother 3 times to win comfortably 4-0.

Manager Hafiz Ahmed said after the win 'What a way to end the season, these boys no matter if they win or lose they still give 100% this season by far was our best together, we are all learning and developing and im sure there is plenty more success to come in the future'.

MANOR PARK YOUNGSTERS BEAT LOCALS MANOR FC IN PENALTY SHOOTOUT


London APSA Under 13s lifted the London & Middlesex Football For Change Cup on Saturday 14th May as they beat local rivals Manor FC 4-2 in a penalty shootout after the thrilling game in Wanstead Flats ended 4-4, and was watched on by almost 100 spectators as players parents, and many manor park locals gathered together on the sidelines to watch this entertaining game.

APSA who were playing a year above in the U14s final, started the game well as they attacked quick and created the first 2 early chances of the game as Captain Akram Miah’s Shot went wide and Vice-captain Taher Mahmood’s header was saved by the Manor FC keeper.

However after the first 5 minutes of APSA’s brilliant start Manor FC got the lead through their captain Zain Khan as London APSA were caught on the break it was 1-0 to Manor FC, however that lead didn’t last long as soon as APSA re started play, Manor FC got carried away and APSA youngster Osman Rahman tapped in Akram Miah’s cross to level the game.

As more and more spectators came in to cheer APSA on, Akram Miah’s pace was too much for these Manor FC players as he cut inside to take a shot and give APSA a worthy 2-1 lead, but this wasn’t it as Manor FC kicked off again APSA pressed well and centre midfielder Radwan Karim picked up the ball and gave a long pass into his captain Akram Miah who was in space and 1 on 1 with the keeper and made it 3-1 grabbing his brace and his 52nd goal of the season. Manor FC managed to pull a goal back before the break but APSA went into half time leading 3-2.

The second half saw both teams playing with passion and the working hard to win every ball, however it was APSA’s technical ability and ball control that got them through their opposition and got them their fourth goal, this time their whole team was involved and play begun from keeper Shafiiq Shipkoylee as he rolled the ball out and the entire APSA team from defence to attack played quick 2 touch passes to each other before Taher Mahmood scored the team goal.

As it was 4-2 now APSA were settled for the next 20 minutes of the game as the game was reaching its closing stages Manor FC managed to pull a goal back through Zain Khan as APSA were tiring down from a long and physical game, they were switched off when Manor FC got forward and got their equaliser. It was 4-4 and the game went straight to penalties.

Penalties:

The shootout begun and first up was Zain Khan for Manor and he fired away his penalty on the top right corner, Taher Mahmood was first for APSA and he scored, Manor FC scored their second penalty and so did APSA with Akram Miah firing his spot kick away, Manor FC missed their third and fourth penalty with APSA keeper Shafiiq Shipkoylee saving both spot kicks and Mahathir Mohammed scored the third and Faez Kashem got the winning spot kick and London APSA were crowned champions.

Manager Hafiz Ahmed said after the thrilling game ‘Even if we lost on penalties it would not have mattered to us because what a lot of people forget in this competition is that we are the youngest team, we are an under 13 team taking part in an under 14 competition but we still showed our true potential throughout it, I’m so proud of my players, they represented the club and their town well, I want to thank everyone from Manor Park who came down, it was great to see all the locals, shop owners, barbers and takeaway guys come down and support us’.

London APSA captain Akram Miah who had a brilliant game said ‘I said last time we are going to go out there and put up a big fight for this trophy, we travelled around the whole of London playing games and raising money, I said to the boys before the game we have to make all that hard work worth it now and it happened, bring on the next one!’

LONDON APSA THROUGH TO ELE RED LEAGUE CUP FINAL

London APSA under 13s have reached their 2nd cup final in a row after beating Walthamstow Wolves 3-2 in the East London and Essex Junior League Cup semi-final, in a thrilling game at Wanstead flats.

Skipper Akram Miah gave the manor park boys the lead in the first few minutes of the intense encounter, when he got to the end of a long goal kick taken by APSA keeper Shafiiq Shipkoylee and rounded the Walthamstow Wolves keeper, to finish off and give his side the 1-0 lead, but within minutes Walthamstow Wolves hit back before the break, after some miss control from the APSA defence who failed to clear the ball which fell to the feet of a Walthamstow player who made it 1-1 at half time. 

Walthamstow Wolves applied some pressure in the opening few minutes of the second half, however it was APSA who got the lead when vice-captain Taher Mahmood went for a sprinting run with the ball along the wing before crossing it into Abaan Patel to tap in and give APSA the lead again.
It was Taher Mahmood who was the man in the spotlight again as he dazzled with his skills past the opposition defence into the 18 yard box before he was fouled by a Walthamstow Wolves player and the referee immediately pointed at the spot, Taher Mahmood stepped up and fired it away, it was now 3-1 to APSA.

Walthamstow Wolves pulled a goal back through a penalty to make it 3-2 and applied so much pressure to the APSA defence for an equalizer however after solid defensive duties and discipline, London APSA held on to win the tie 3-2.

This is the second cup final London APSA have to look forward to having also reached the London and Middlesex Football for Change Cup final, and after witnessing a thrilling game manager Hafiz Ahmed had his say ‘This match has to be one of the best games I seen our boys play all season, they showed a lot of character, gave 100% and never gave up, we now have 2 cup finals to look forward to, we will work hard in training and see what happens next’. 

London APSA will play Clissold Rangers in the Under 13s ELE League cup final at Fords Sports Club, Redbridge on Saturday 21st May 2016.


Akram Miah Late Strike Takes APSA Through To Cup Final (London APSA 1-0 St Joseph Colts - Aggregate 2-1)

London APSA Captain Akram Miah, came to the rescue for his side as his stoppage time free kick put the Newham side into the Football For Change Cup final to book a place in Mile End Stadium against MP FC, after winning the semi final second leg 1-0 against St Joseph Colts.

After the first leg finished 1-1 in South-west London last week and Akram Miah getting the late equalizer in that game too after St Josephs were a goal ahead, London APSA made sure they took full advantage when the visitors came to East London in a closely fought game. St Josephs began the game on a high and could of taken the lead when they was awarded a penalty in the early stages, but APSA keeper Shafiiq Shipkoylee made sure that didn't happen as he got a finger tip on the ball to save the spot kick.

The APSA keeper was doing a fine job in goal as he saved 3 clear chances soon after the penalty by denying the St Joseph strikers to score, APSA maintained control of the game after 15 minutes and settled really well with a few chances most notably Taher Mahmood's 1 on 1 with the keeper which went wide.

It was end to end after 30 minutes gone with both teams giving it everything in the remainder of the first half, with both teams defenses making good clearances which made it difficult to get past and have a shot on target for either side.

Second half begun in an even fierce manner, both teams knew a goal would be enough to settle the tie. St Josephs came close twice from a corner which the St Josephs striker hit wide and a free kick which was saved by Shaffiq Shipkoylee safely. APSA on the other hand had the better chances they had 2 clear opportunities to score but couldn't take either as APSA striker Osman Rahman didn't have the finishing touch to score and extra time seemed like it was coming.

It was down to last minute of the game and both teams were throwing everything, while St Jospehs were pushing men forward, APSA were on the break and Akram Miah was accelerating forward after taking on 2 St Josephs defenders he was fouled by the third and the referee blew for a free kick to APSA in the last seconds of the game.

APSA skipper Akram Miah stepped up to take it, it was now or never for the manor park boys, his free kick hit the top right corner and went in, it was 1-0 to APSA who went on to win the game 2-1 on aggregate.

The skipper was delighted to win in this fashion and stated 'It was a tough game but our team gave everything, it was always going to be the best team who wins in the end and I think we were the best team tonight but the hard work dont stop here, we still have a final to look forward to and hopefully another trophy!'  

Manager Hafiz Ahmed who was looking forward to the final said 'Just like how Akram said the hard work don't stop here, we worked really hard for this win and we are going to make sure we give everything in the final, the boys have worked really hard in this game I couldn't ask for more and I 100% believe with this performance today these boys can go all the way'.

London APSA Leave It Late To Win Bethnal Green Youth Tournament. FT: London APSA 2-1 All Stars Hackney (Akram x2)


On Saturday 5th March 2016, London APSA boys traveled to Bethnal Green to take part in the annual 5 a side competition the Bethnal Green Youth Tournament.

The day saw 16 youth teams from across Newham, Tower Hamlets and Hackney take part and over 100 young people participating. 

APSA only one of 2 Newham teams in the tournament reached the final against All Stars Hackney. They were drawn in Group A along with; Elite FC, Juva FC, Bethnal Green Lions, Weavers FC, Clayahll Youth and Shoreditch United. London APSA finished undefeated in the group of 8 with convincing wins and qualified for the semi final against East London Ballers FC. 

In a closely contested semi final, APSA run out as 1-0 winners with captain Akram Miah getting the decisive goal late in the game, after being played through by Taher Mahmood, the youngster finished off after being 1 on 1 with the East London Baller's goal keeper. 

The Manor Park youngsters were now battling it out in the final against a very strong All Stars Hackney side watched on by many locals and teams, as the final started APSA were attacking quick and created the early chances but fell behind when they didn't track back to defend and the Hackney boys took full advantage and gave their team the 1-0 lead. All Stars Hackney were ahead and tried to see out the the final but APSA applied more and more pressure with their attacking football and tried to get an equalizer but were denied on several occasions by the Hackney keeper. 

There was only one minute of the final remaining and APSA through everything at the Hackney defence, Osman Rahman played the ball into his captain Akram Miah and after not being closed down the in form winger took a shot which hit the post and went in. it was 1-1 and only seconds remaining but APSA keeper Shafiiq Shipkoylee rolled the ball into Akram Miah who paced through the Hackney players and scored a wonder goal which was the last kick of the game. London APSA run out 2-1 winners and were crowned champions of the Bethnal Green Youth Tournament. 

As players were receiving their winners trophies Manager Hafiz Ahmed expressed how pleased he was with his teams current form and consistency; 'I think playing in these tournaments are very important for the players development, it was a long day for our boys waking up early in the morning and travelling all the way from Manor Park but it was worth it in the end, we played almost 10 games today and the boys worked really hard and deserved to win'.

London APSA continued their top form after bringing the Waltham Forest Challenge Cup home after a comfortable 7-1 win over Juva Youth, to become treble champions.

Previously adding the league title and the league cup earlier on in the season APSA had their eyes set on the treble as they walked out onto the pitch watched on by almost 200 spectators at Clapton FC's Old Spotted Dog Ground.

The game kicked off with APSA taking full control of the ball and created 2 early chances which were saved by Juva's goalkeeper.

Minutes later the deadlock was broken when youngster Osman Rahman tapped in Taher Mahmood's cross to make it 1-0 APSA and get the fans roaring on their feet.

As APSA continued to get men forward with confidence Juva were outnumbered at the back and after some very fluid passing the ball fell to the feet of Striker Mahatir Mohammed who done the rest of the work and made it 2-0. After the second goal APSA showed more and more hunger to score more and they did when Tanbir Ahmed put a neat ball into the path of Mahatir Mohammed who's shot hit the post before going in and gave APSA the 3 goal lead at half time.

As the second half of the final kicked off and more and more fans were coming in, APSA believed the game was not over and wanted to get more goals while tiring the Juva players who did think the game was up.

APSA were awarded a penalty when Akram Miah was fouled in the box, and vice captain Taher Mahmood stepped up to take it and put the ball in the bottom left corner.

After 10 minutes of keeping possession and making the Juva players press hard and chase the ball, Taher Mahmood begun going on a long run which begun from APSA keeper Shafiiq Shipkoylee passing the ball into Mahmood who begun accelerating in such speed taking on several Juva players on his way to score a brilliant solo goal, running to the crowd in celebration as he made it 5-0 APSA.

Juva managed to pull a goal back after catching APSA on the break, But only minutes later did Taher Mahmood get his hat trick after great play and support from teammates; Tanbir Ahmed and Akram Miah, Taher Mahmood's shot from outside the 18 yard box left Juva's keeper with no chance.

However this was not the only well struck goal from outside the 18 yard box. Akram Miah assisted by Samirul Muhit took a powerful shot which almost teared the net, it was 7-1 to APSA and game over as Akram Miah run to manager Hafiz Ahmed in celebration after scoring what was the goal of the final.

A delightful and cheerful Hafiz Ahmed said after the game 'Well what a great season its been, unbelievable scenes here today, we are treble champions and never did we know at the start of the season this going to happen, but we always worked hard in training every week, and our intention was always to go out there and enjoy it, enjoy the football regardless but right now we can enjoy being treble champions!'.

APSA Beat Springfeild 3-2 To Lift Ahsan Khan Cup

As February half term came to a start, London APSA boys started it off with glory ad they beat Springfeild 3-2 to lift the Councilor Ahsan Khan Cup in Leyton Jubilee Park.

Organised by Salaam Peace, APSA began tournament with wins over SP United, Springfeild FC and Springfeild United, before topping the 6 team table undefeated and qualifying for the final by finishing in the top 2.

The final against Springfeild FC started off with APSA taking the lead through Osman Rahman after he got to the end of Faez Kashem's pass to make it 1-0 APSA, but minutes later Springfeild equalized after sloppy goalkeeping from the APSA keeper. The game was coming to a close and there was only 2 minutes left on the referees clock.

However APSA managed to take the lead through a superb free kick from Taher Mahmood. it was 2-1 and down to the last minute of the game however APSA got carries away and Springfeild countered and equalized. with seconds remaining APSA were awarded another free kick, Taher Mahmood struck the ball neatly in the back of the net and that was the last kick of the game and APSA were 3-2 winners.

Hi Everyone, 

Our London APSA U13s team will be taking on Juva Youth in the final of the Waltham Forest Saturday Youth League Challenge Cup. The final will be played at Essex Senior League side's Clapton FC at their Old Spotted Dog ground, 212 Upton Lane, Forest Gate, London, E7 9NP. 
On Wednesday 17th February 2016. Kick off will be at 2pm. Our boys have already won the league and league cup and will now aim to complete the treble.

The game is also a fundraiser for the MPY Youth Project to be held in summer of 2016.

Please if you are free come along to support both teams and young people who have worked so hard to get to this stage, please also can you kindly share to family and friends. We are aiming to get a huge crowd and to raise at least £500 for our project.

APSA Win Epic League Cup Final To Complete Waltham Forest Double

After winning the league title last week, London APSA Under 13s carried their same winning spirits after they beat Juva Youth 8-4 to win the Waltham Forest League cup and complete the double on Saturday 23rd January 2016.

APSA who eased through the group stages collecting 3 wins and 9 points played Clayhall in the semi final and beat them 1-0 with star winger Akram Miah getting the decisive goal in stoppage time.

It was the final next and London APSA were against league runners up Juva Youth. The match started of with APSA creating several chances but failing to find the back of the net.

However the deadlock was broken when Osman Rahman got to the end of Taher Mahmood's cross to tap in and give his team the lead, the youngster added a second when Juva failed to clear ball after a corner and Osman Rahman took full advantage and got his and his teams second.

Minutes later Juva got back in the game with a goal from their striker after London APSA's defence let the striker on after thinking he was offside. But APSA showed more determination and the goals came flying in after Tanbir Ahmed and Taher Mahmood grabbed a brace each. It was 6-1 to APSA at the break.

Second half kicked off and London APSA started off in the same fashion as they did in the first half, having many shots on target but failing to hit the back of the net, But Juva showed hunger and determination to come back and they countered APSA 3 times and scored on all 3 occasions to take the score to 6-4.

At this point it was game on, and Juva were determined to turn the game around, however it wasn't to be as APSA were back in the game and kept the ball, making it very hard for the opposition as the Juva players were getting tired pressing for the ball. Tanbir Ahmed got his hat trick as he was played in by Akram Miah, and Zaid Ahmed had the last laugh as his shot from outside the box creeped in when Juva's keeper failed to put a fingertip on it.

London APSA won the game 8-4 and completed the league and cup double, they will now play the challenge cup matches and hope to aim for the treble.

Manager Hafiz Ahmed said after the final 'It was a really exciting game of football, end to end stuff, but we got there in the end, full credit to Juva, although the score seems one sided Juva did have spells were they played really well and fought hard to try level the scores, but credit to our boys they kept their game and didn't panic and we won and done the double'.

Saturday 16th January 2016 marked the end of the Waltham forest Saturday youth league season for the under 13s age group. 

The league which began in early September catered for the Under 13s and Under 15s age group and matches where played every Saturdays at Leyton Jubilee Park and Lammas School, Leyton. 

London APSA from Newham, began the season with a 2-0 defeat to title contenders Juva Youth, but bounced back in the season to collect 11 wins after that loss, scoring an amazing 122 goals and conceding only 7 in the process. 

APSA manager Hafiz Ahmed said after the trophy presentation 'if I had to pick 2 words to sum up this season that will have to be hard work, because that's all the boys have showed for the past 11 weeks, we worked so hard in training to get to where we got today and to be champions today, a lot of people didn't think that after the first game which we lost 2-0 to Juva that we will bounce back, we was bottom of the table at one point! so you can see how much hard work and effort these boys have put in' 

The team will now focus on going into the cup competitions and work hard aiming for league cup and challenge cup to complete the treble. 

London APSA Begin 2016 As Manor Park Champions

The Manor Park Football Tournament was held in Little Ilford Park on Saturday 2nd January 2016, for the U16s age group.

The 7 A Side Tournament consisted of 4 teams battling it out to be champions of Manor Park. Every team played each other twice in a round robin, league format tournament.

As London APSA was the youngest team in the tournament little was expected from the youngsters and that proved right as they lost the first game 2-0 to Manor United Under 16s.

However shockingly APSA managed to win the next few games and go onto win the tournament as they beat Manor United 3-1 in the decisive game, with youngsters; Kamran Uddin and Akram Miah getting the goals.

London APSA manager Hafiz Ahmed said after the win 'Today was just a glimpse of how we can show our hunger and determination to win regardless the opposition we played, we was the youngest team in the competition but yet we showed great footballing skill and our class really stood out today, Kamran was exceptional and so was Akram in the middle winning every ball for our forwards and so was our entire team, full credit to our boys.'

London APSA Boys Complete 5 Mile Walk For Charity

Four players from the London APSA youth team took part in a 5 mile walk from Bow to Barking on New Years Eve 2015.

The players included; Goalkeeper Shafiiq Shipkoylee, Captain Taher Mahmood, Centre back Mahdi Ali and Left winger Akram Miah.

The walk was in partnership with a charity project run by the NILC centre in Manor Park.

At the end of the walk the boys were awarded with certificates for their participation of the event.

APSA left winger Akram Miah said; 'I really enjoyed today, it was a fun and exiting day and I would definitely love to do it again sometime.'

London APSA Win Little Ilford Park Tournament 2015

On Monday 28th December 2015, the London APSA youth team boys took part int he Little Ilford Park Mini Tournament against MP FC, a new team based in Manor Park.

London APSA won the 7 A Side tournament undefeated, playing 3 matches and winning all them conceding only a single goal in the process.

On Boxing day 2015, the APSA youth team boys played a charity game to raise money for people in Ghana.

The event was organised by Newham Open Youth Academy, and the 8 A Side match was played between London APSA and NOYFA.

London APSA won the match 17-1 with goals coming from Akram (x10) Taher (x5) and Faez (x2).

The game managed to raise £52.70p which was later donated to charity.

Both teams received medals and trophies for their participation in the event.

London APSA Manager, Hafiz Ahmed said 'Although the scoreline was one sided it was great to be part of an event like this, we sometimes forget that people in the other side of the world don't get things quite easy how we do here, and I hope the money raised in today's game can at least benefit them in one way or the other.'
