After winning the league title last week, London APSA Under 13s carried their same winning spirits after they beat Juva Youth 8-4 to win the Waltham Forest League cup and complete the double on Saturday 23rd January 2016.
APSA who eased through the group stages collecting 3 wins and 9 points played Clayhall in the semi final and beat them 1-0 with star winger Akram Miah getting the decisive goal in stoppage time.
It was the final next and London APSA were against league runners up Juva Youth. The match started of with APSA creating several chances but failing to find the back of the net.
However the deadlock was broken when Osman Rahman got to the end of Taher Mahmood's cross to tap in and give his team the lead, the youngster added a second when Juva failed to clear ball after a corner and Osman Rahman took full advantage and got his and his teams second.
Minutes later Juva got back in the game with a goal from their striker after London APSA's defence let the striker on after thinking he was offside. But APSA showed more determination and the goals came flying in after Tanbir Ahmed and Taher Mahmood grabbed a brace each. It was 6-1 to APSA at the break.
Second half kicked off and London APSA started off in the same fashion as they did in the first half, having many shots on target but failing to hit the back of the net, But Juva showed hunger and determination to come back and they countered APSA 3 times and scored on all 3 occasions to take the score to 6-4.
At this point it was game on, and Juva were determined to turn the game around, however it wasn't to be as APSA were back in the game and kept the ball, making it very hard for the opposition as the Juva players were getting tired pressing for the ball. Tanbir Ahmed got his hat trick as he was played in by Akram Miah, and Zaid Ahmed had the last laugh as his shot from outside the box creeped in when Juva's keeper failed to put a fingertip on it.
London APSA won the game 8-4 and completed the league and cup double, they will now play the challenge cup matches and hope to aim for the treble.
Manager Hafiz Ahmed said after the final 'It was a really exciting game of football, end to end stuff, but we got there in the end, full credit to Juva, although the score seems one sided Juva did have spells were they played really well and fought hard to try level the scores, but credit to our boys they kept their game and didn't panic and we won and done the double'.
