The last major cup final for the London APSA youth team boys ended on a high as they beat Juva Youth 5-2 to lift the MJA Trophy at the Old Spotted Dog Ground, Forest Gate.

Although the scoreline seemed one sided it was a very tense game for both sides from start to finish.

APSA however broke the deadlock after Tanbir Ahmed's cross was met by Faez Kashem who headed it in to make it 1-0. Minutes later after a Juva corner APSA were on the counter attack and after a quick succession of passes Akram Miah found the back of the net with his powerful left footed strike that left the Juva keeper with no chance,

However on the stroke of half time Juva managed to pull a goal back when the APSA players let the ball run to a Juva striker who took full advantage and made the scoreline 2-1.

As the second half started both teams had belief of winning the game, however it was London APSA who showed more hunger and determination to win the game, their fluid passing combinations were no match for Juva and they got a third after Shafiiq Shipkoylee played a sweet ball into the 18 yard box which was met by Akram Miah who finished it off and made it 3-1 to APSA.

At this moment London APSA were in full control of the game and got 2 more goals through Tanbir Ahmed and Faez Kashem. As the final whistle blew, APSA boys were joyous in celebration as this was another final they had to work very hard to win.

Manager Hafiz Ahmed commented on the game saying 'Was a great game of football, 5-2 winners on the night but it was a really tough game, especially when it came to breaking down Juva's back four, we switched to 4-4-2 in the second half and I think that was the game changer as we attacked every time we got the ball, Switching Shafiiq from right back to right wing payed off as he was working hard to feed the balls into our strikers, man of the match performance from him'.

Elite Pro showed great character and was back in the game to level to make it 3-3. However Akram's pace was too much for the Elite Pro Sports players to handle and he managed to grab the winner from a left footed shot from outside the 18 yard box.

06/09/2015

As the sun was out on a lovely Sunday morning at Leyton Jubilee Park, London APSA begun September with a win as they beat Springfield FC in a decisive game 3-1 to win the Waltham Forest Youth Cup.

The first game was against Impope FC and APSA started off slow but found their feet with 2 goals, Akram Miah and Tanbir Ahmed getting one each, However a loss of concentration lead to Impope pulling one back just before the match ended.

The second game saw APSA up against East London Soccer School and it was a very tough game for both teams. As time was ticking it was London APSA who broke the deadlock, with Akram Miah taking a shot which was saved by the keeper only for the London APSA winger to tap in and finish the game 1-0.

So before the decisive match was played APSA played 2 and won 2 and the same was for Springfield FC who won both their games too without conceding.

The game kicked off and within minutes London APSA were ahead and it was Akram Miah once again as he responded to Taher Manhood's cross to leave the Springfield keeper with no chance. Springfield however were pushing for an equalizer and got one through a corner after APSA showed poor marking and defending which led to a Springfield player scoring a spectacular overhead kick to beat APSA keeper Shafiq Shipkoylee.

It was game on at this moment and it seemed like the game was going to finish a draw and tournament win for Springfield on goal difference, But with 5 minutes on the clock Akram Miah found the better of a Springfield player after taking on his man and scoring his second, however he wasn't finished their the inform player went on to score another to make it 3-1 and complete his hat trick and complete a hard fought victory for London APSA.

London APSA Boys Win East London Charity Cup and Raise £200 For Newham Learning Centre.

London APSA Boys After Winning the East London Charity Cup After Beating NILC 6-2 in The Final At Clapton FC's Old Spotted Dog Ground.
16/08/15

It was the same old story for the London APSA Youth Team, another game, another final and another win, But on this occasion the young boys managed to raise over £200 for the Newham Learning Centre in Manor Park.

A crowd of over 70 spectators most of whom were players families, friends and local people watched a mouth watering finale as both teams battled it out to be crowned champions.

Both teams come out onto the pitch cheered on by the fans
The competition itself started in 2012 were Aspire Youth beat Forest Gate United 2-1 to lift the trophy, On the other hand, APSA have won the competition 2 years in a row in 2013 and 2014 with convincing wins over Loxford Youth and ELFA respectively, were looking to win the competition 3 years in a row. The boys who came runners up in the newly formed Hackney League had already won 12 tournaments in 2014/15 season, most notably the LIC FC Tournament at The Valley, Home of Chalrton Athletic FC.

However on this occasion it was Clapton FC's Old Spotted Dog Ground which was the venue for the final this year. Both teams were cheered on by fans as they walked out the tunnel onto the pitch.

The game kicked off and already it was a tough game. Both teams battled for the ball hardly but it was APSA who maintained most of the possession with their quick passing and ball control.

APSA knew it wouldn't be easy as within the first 10 minutes of the game NILC were closing down their passing quick and stopped anything from getting into the path of striker London APSA's Faez Kashem. Within minutes the deadlock was broken as captain Tanbir Ahmed gave a neat and tidy ball into winger Akram Miah who finished off his chance with the help of a deflection from the NILC keeper, but it was 1-0 to London APSA.

NILC had to react fast but gave away too many free kicks and APSA made the most of that as Midfeilder Taher Mahmood took a free kick from the half way line which just about got onto Kamran Uddin to make it 2-0 to London APSA.

It wasn't long till they got their third, Some good football was played from the back and quick combination plays were created by Tanbir Ahmed, Taher Mahmood and Kamran Uddin who crossed the ball into Akram Miah for a tap in and make it 3-0. But NILC pulled a goal back just before half time when there was some sloppy and careless defending which led to NILC Winger Abdullah pulling one back.

Second half started and both teams were pushing for goals but it was NILC who came on top within minutes of the first half as Abdullah yet again found the back of the net while APSA defenders were switched off.

Now the game was really on, as fans were screaming and supporting both teams, Akram Miah got the better of the NILC defence to score APSA's fourth and get his hat trick. He wasn't finished though minutes later NILC gave up hope and Akram Miah finished off Kamran Uddin's cross to make it 5-2.

It was Akram who had the last laugh as he wrapped up the game after some good pressure by Samirul Muhit who gave the ball into him within 10 yards Akram finished off his fifth goal in the game.

As the final whistle blew, the teams were notified they raised over £200 for the Newham Learning Centre.

The were up against East London Soccer School as the race for the title went on, APSA forfeited a game as most boys had a school cup final that day, this obviously was they key reason in losing the league as if they played and won that fixture they would of won the league.

However a lot of positives had to be taken out of this campaign as it was the first time the boys played outside of an Asian League and showed to other teams from outside Tower Hamlets what they are capable of doing, and not to mention star striker Kamran who got scouted for the Crystal Palace Academy.

London APSA 2-1 Newham Warriors

The Last pre-season match and what a match it was, played at Wanstead Flats, the game kicked off with APSA dominating possesion in the first half, creating several chances but could not find the back of the net. At half time it was 0-0

. As the second half kicked off both teams done their at most best to get a goal but it was the APSA boys who got the breakthrough when Kamran Uddin's free kick from just outside the edge of the 18 yard box went straight through the keepers legs. It was a memorable goal for the youngster as he went to celebrate with his team mates. The frustrated Newham Warriors players kept their game and piled the pressure onto APSA, but great recovery runs from our wingers Faez and Arram kept them out. It was just 2 minutes left on the clock and the Warriors came back to make it 1-1 after the APSA defence failed to clear the ball. With just under 30 seconds remaining APSA get a corner which was taken by Kamran and in came Akram with a thumping header which went straight to the back of the net to make it 2-1 and there was the final whistle.

Although the boys played against boys who were a year older then them they showed how their hard work determination and hunger is second to none and that is what made them go home victorious.
