London APSA 2-1 Newham Warriors
The Last pre-season match and what a match it was, played at Wanstead Flats, the game kicked off with APSA dominating possesion in the first half, creating several chances but could not find the back of the net. At half time it was 0-0. As the second half kicked off both teams done their at most best to get a goal but it was the APSA boys who got the breakthrough when Kamran Uddin's free kick from just outside the edge of the 18 yard box went straight through the keepers legs. It was a memorable goal for the youngster as he went to celebrate with his team mates. The frustrated Newham Warriors players kept their game and piled the pressure onto APSA, but great recovery runs from our wingers Faez and Arram kept them out. It was just 2 minutes left on the clock and the Warriors came back to make it 1-1 after the APSA defence failed to clear the ball. With just under 30 seconds remaining APSA get a corner which was taken by Kamran and in came Akram with a thumping header which went straight to the back of the net to make it 2-1 and there was the final whistle.
Although the boys played against boys who were a year older then them they showed how their hard work determination and hunger is second to none and that is what made them go home victorious.
