22/08/2015

London APSA took part in the Rohingya Power League Cup For Burma a Charity 5 A Side tournament in aid of people in Burma on Saturday 22nd August 2015 and for the first time took part in an U14 tournament playing against boys 2 years older.

However the team achieved more then expected as they went on all the way to the final after playing 8 matches in the group and keeping a clean sheet the whole way through, the boys beat Manor United in the Semi Final 3-1 on penalties with Taher Mahmood, Kamran Uddin, and Captain Tanbir Ahmed all getting their spot kicks on target.

In the Final it was London APSA U12s against Ahle Sunnah U14s and although the boys showed great character and team spirit they lost the final 3-1. But there was no doubt the boys were the better team, they were able to handle situations in the game very well and gave their 100% and showed they can play against any opposition that is put in front of them.

Manager Hafiz Ahmed said after the game 'I'm so proud of these players regardless who they play against they will always give 100%. Today we played in an Under 14s tournament against boys a few years older then us, who were physically stronger than us, but we kept our game the whole way through, We showed we can play against ant opposition regardless of size, age or ability, Well done to all our boys, im proud of each and every single one of you'.
